Ms. Langley earned her Master’s in Public Policy from the Goldman School of
Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley in 1999. Prior to her
graduate studies, she worked for the U.S. Senate Labor and Human Resources Committee
and for the Child Welfare League of America. As a VISTA volunteer in Storm Lake,
Iowa, Ms. Langley provided social services outreach, as well as interpretation and
translation services, to a rapidly growing Spanish-speaking immigrant population.
With her experience at the local, regional and national level, Ms. Langley is
sensitive to the importance of a strong, data-driven connection between the
day-to-day reality of social services provision and the policies that guide and
fund those services. Ms. Langley has conducted research for the Alameda County
Social Services Agency, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Child Welfare League of
America, and AtKisson, Inc., a sustainability consultancy in Seattle, Washington.
